What God Does While We Wait (Sermon)

What if the seasons of waiting in our lives are not wasted time, but sacred ground where God does some of His deepest work in us? Drawing from the story of Sarah in Genesis, we explore how the long, often painful stretch between receiving a promise from God and seeing it fulfilled is actually filled with divine activity. Sarah waited 25 years for the child God had promised, and in that span of time, we see her stumble, doubt, and grasp for control -- and yet God never abandoned her or His word to her. The central spiritual lesson here is both challenging and liberating: waiting is only unbearable when we believe it is a waste. The moment we begin to see our waiting seasons as times of transformation rather than stagnation, everything shifts. We are invited to look honestly at what rises to the surface when life does not move at the pace we want -- because what comes up reveals what we truly trust. This message calls us to examine the lies we believe about God when circumstances feel stuck, and to recognize that those lies, left unchecked, quietly reshape our faith and our choices in ways we may not even notice.
