If Your Faith Never Changes, Are You Really Growing? (Podcast)
What does it mean to truly engage with Scripture, and how do the books we read shape our faith? This conversation digs into the reality that Christianity has always been a reading culture, one that pairs the Word of God with writings that help us understand it more deeply. We explore a practical challenge that many of us face: we are told to read the Bible, but rarely taught how. Without understanding the Bible as a collection of different kinds of writing, each with its own context and flow, we can easily get lost and give up. The insight here is freeing rather than discouraging. Learning to ask better questions of Scripture, understanding how chapters and verses were added later by monks and sometimes interrupt the natural flow of ideas, and recognizing the grand storyline running through it all can completely transform how we engage with God's Word. The books recommended in this conversation are not meant to replace Scripture but to lead us back to it with fresh eyes and greater hunger. If our spiritual reading is doing its job, it should make the Bible more alive to us, not less.
