He Promises Life to the Full: The Veil is Torn

Apr 5, 2026    Heath Watts

This Easter message invites us to rediscover the profound gift of salvation that we sometimes take for granted. Drawing from Romans 6:23 and the gospel accounts in Matthew, Mark, and Luke, we're reminded that when Jesus died on the cross, something miraculous happened beyond our forgiveness - the curtain in the temple was torn from top to bottom. This wasn't just a physical event, but a spiritual revolution. For centuries, people had been separated from God's presence by thick curtains in the Holy of Holies, accessing Him only through priests and rituals. But when Christ breathed His last, that separation was demolished. We now have direct, unhindered access to the presence of God. Yet how often do we live as though those curtains still exist? The message challenges us to identify what curtains we've allowed to remain in our lives - whether it's the curtain of intellect where we think we know everything, the curtain of trust where past hurts keep us at a distance, or the curtain of unworthiness where we feel unqualified to receive God's grace. The call is clear: Jesus didn't just die to forgive our sins; He died to remove every barrier between us and abundant life. We're invited to step fully into the gift of sonship and daughterhood, embracing our identity as children of the King and experiencing life to the full, not just in heaven someday, but right here, right now.
