He Promises Wisdom in the Struggle (Sermon)
In a world where we constantly face struggles and difficult decisions, we're reminded of a profound truth: there are two types of wisdom available to us. The first is man's wisdom, characterized by jealousy, selfish ambition, arrogance, and pride. This earthly wisdom leads to chaos, disorder, and broken relationships. The second is God's wisdom, described in James chapter 3 as pure, peace-loving, gentle, merciful, and sincere. This heavenly wisdom produces an honorable life filled with good works and humility. The message challenges us to examine how we've been living: have we been trusting our own understanding, or have we been seeking God's perspective? Through the story of Solomon, who asked God for wisdom above all else, we see that when we humble ourselves and ask for divine wisdom, God not only grants it but adds blessings beyond measure. The pathway to receiving God's wisdom involves three critical steps: embracing humility by setting aside our pride, fearing God through reverent worship and honoring Him, and simply asking God for His wisdom. Proverbs 3:5-7 becomes our guide: trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He will direct your paths. This isn't just about making better decisions; it's about transforming how we navigate every struggle, relationship, and crossroad in our lives.
