Prayer & Fasting (Sermon)
This powerful message confronts us with a fundamental truth about spiritual breakthrough: we have a connection problem. Drawing from Matthew 17, where the disciples failed to heal an epileptic boy, we discover Jesus identifying two critical issues—being faithless (disconnected from God) and perverse (too connected to the world). The solution Jesus offers is profound yet practical: prayer and fasting. Prayer rebuilds our connection to God, strengthening our faith through time spent in His presence. Fasting disconnects us from worldly dependencies, weakening the flesh and soul so our spirit can take its rightful place of leadership in our lives. This isn't about punishment or deprivation; it's about realigning the three parts of our being—body, soul, and spirit—so we can be truly spirit-led. The message challenges us to examine where we run for comfort before running to Jesus. Whether it's food, social media, relationships, or other distractions, fasting creates space for God to be our ultimate source. With practical guidance on different types of fasting and a call to 21 days of intentional seeking, we're invited to step into breakthrough by choosing less of ourselves and more of God. The promise is clear: when we take steps toward Him through prayer and fasting, He meets us with healing, salvation, and His manifest presence.
