Vision Sunday (Podcast)
At the heart of this conversation lies a beautifully simple yet profoundly transformative vision: love God, love people, and live life to the full. Drawing from Jesus' response to the religious leaders in Matthew about the greatest commandment, we're reminded that our entire faith journey can be distilled into these two equally important priorities—loving God with everything we have and loving our neighbors as ourselves. What's striking is the intentional order: we cannot truly love people the way God loves them unless we're first deeply in love with Him. This isn't about religious obligation but about cultivating an intimate relationship that requires time, sacrifice, and consistency. The fullness of life that Jesus promises in John 10:10 isn't found in pursuing more money, better friendships, or even the perfect lifestyle—it flows directly from fullness of God. When we chase after earthly things to fill the void only God can occupy, we end up empty despite our abundance. This vision challenges us to examine what we're truly pursuing and reminds us that being the church means actively loving people through tangible action, not just words. Whether through adoption support, meeting physical needs before spiritual ones, or simply showing up consistently, we're called to be the hands and feet of Jesus in a world desperately seeking authentic love.
