Week Four

What does it look like to truly release something we have poured our hearts into? This session brings us to the final and perhaps most challenging stage of birthing a promise from God: release. Drawing from Genesis 23 and the story of Sarah's death and burial, we discover that release is not the end of the story but rather a sacred transition. Sarah lived her entire life as a nomad, never personally inhabiting the land God had promised, yet she died in Canaan. Abraham purchased a tomb for her there, and in doing so, he secured the first piece of the promised land as a permanent possession. Generations later, that promise found its full expression. The spiritual lesson is both humbling and liberating: even if we do not see every detail of God's promise fulfilled in our lifetime, the promise still stands. God is a God of generations, and our faithful obedience plants seeds that bloom far beyond our own chapter of the story. We are invited to loosen our grip, open our hands, and trust that what we release into God's care will travel farther than anything we could hold onto ourselves.
