Evidence of Overflow (Sermon)
What does it look like when a community decides, collectively, that obedience to God matters more than financial security? This message takes us on a journey through decades of real-world moments where open hands produced outcomes that closed fists never could have imagined. We explore the pattern that connects a Korean widow's wooden bowl, a church that emptied its bank account to help earthquake victims, and a foundation that had never given to a religious organization suddenly writing million-dollar checks. The throughline is unmistakable: radical overflow follows radical obedience. We are reminded that the desire for blessing without the willingness to obey is a tension many of us live in, and this message gently but directly calls us out of that tension. The biblical truth that God blesses us not merely for our own comfort but so that blessing can flow outward to every family around us reframes how we think about everything we hold in our hands. This is not a message about an institution needing resources. It is a message about us discovering what we were actually created for.
