Making Room to Make a Difference (Sermon)

This powerful message challenges us to examine what truly holds the throne of our hearts. Drawing from Matthew 6:21, we're confronted with a profound truth: wherever our treasure is, that's where our heart will be also. The sermon explores three critical areas of stewardship that determine whether we're merely believers or true followers of Christ. First, we must steward our time wisely, recognizing that every yes to something is simultaneously a no to something else. The concept of margin becomes essential—without space in our lives, we cannot make the impact God intends. Second, we're called to steward our gifts, understanding that each of us has been uniquely equipped to serve others. The parable of the talents from Luke 19 reminds us that faithfulness matters more than the size of our results. Finally, and perhaps most challengingly, we must steward our treasure, acknowledging that our relationship with money reveals the true king of our hearts. This isn't about prosperity gospel or giving to get; it's about surrendering control and recognizing that everything we have belongs to God. The question isn't whether God needs our resource (He owns everything), but whether we'll allow Him to be Lord over every area of our lives, including our wallets.
