The Calling of a Christian
In this powerful message, we're reminded of our true calling as Christians - to be with God. It's not just about what we do for a living, but about cultivating a constant awareness of God's presence in our daily lives. The story of Jesus appointing the twelve disciples (Mark 3:14-15) teaches us that before sending them out, He called them to simply 'be with Him.' This challenges us to practice the presence of God, retraining our minds to tune into His voice amidst the noise of life. By staying connected to Jesus, like branches to a vine (John 15), we bear fruit naturally - love, peace, kindness, and more. This fruit isn't produced by our own efforts, but as a result of our connection to the source of all goodness.
